I have just heard from our exceptional skiff builder Mark Robinson that Kiwi St Ayles #2 (as yet unnamed) has her seats fitted and gunwales installed and is expected to head off to the paint shop next week.
There is a rumour going around that there could be a race coming up early in the new year….
Maybe not quite this many! but all going well at least a couple will be putting on some racing at the famous Mahurangi Regatta, Auckland Anniversary weekend… more info to follow
I’m also very pleased to announce that a third St Ayles kit has been dispatched and is underway by a group of enthusiasts in Kaikoura. (Top of the South Island for those of you from foreign shores) a full report on this boat coming soon.
great news, go for it. I was at the St Ayles Skiff World in Ullapool and it was a fantastic week. Good luck all. Portsoy Skiffettes, Portsoy
Greetings from ‘theskiffties.com’ based in Avoch on the Black Isle, Highland, Scotland. Hope to see this beautiful boat when I come over to NZ in February. We’re a wee bit behind the stage that Kaikoura is at ! Hope to see them too. Good luck. Dave Ward
Best wishes for good rowing from http://www.seilskiff.org.uk on the Isle of Seil. We blogged our construction and builders may find it helpful with their first boat. The posts are linked under the heading Buillding the boat (spelling is not our strong point). I’ve also got a blog, scottishboating, which may be of interest!
